Two veteran Gibson Electric lineworkers have been promoted to manager of operations positions, improving efficiency across the cooperative’s service area.

J.J. Whitwell is serving as manager of operations south, and Jason Mills is serving as manager of operations north.

“J.J. and Jason bring decades of experience to these roles, and their leadership will help us continue providing the reliable service our customers expect.,” said Gibson Electric Vice President of Operations Daniel Goode. “In their new roles, they will coordinate our daily operations and improve our outage response time and communication during storms.”

Whitwell joined Gibson Electric as an apprentice lineworker in 1992, was promoted to first class lineworker in 1996 and to line construction crewleader in 2007. He was awarded a transfer to service crewleader in 2024.

Mills began his career with Gibson Electric as an apprentice lineworker in 2006 and was promoted to first class lineworker in 2010 and line crewleader in 2018.

Crewleaders

Will Minton has been awarded a transfer to service crewleader in Trenton, and Seth Turnbo has been promoted to line crewleader in Tiptonville.

Minton joined Gibson Electric as an apprentice lineworker in 2003 and was promoted to first class lineworker in 2008 and line crew­leader in 2024.

Turnbo began his career with Gibson Electric as an apprentice lineworker in 2017 and was pro­moted to first class lineworker in 2021.
